Scafell Pike Weather forecasts

You should always check the weather forecasts before your walk up Scafell Pike! General forecasts are not always particularly useful as they are, by their nature, general. Instead you should refer to more specialised forecasts, like the following:

Met Office Mountain Weather Lake District

The Met Office provide daily mountain forecasts for the Lake District, which includes differing altitude conditions, visability and weather hazards.

MWIS Lake District

The Mountain Weather Information Service, MWIS, also provide excellent forecasts daily for the Lake District.

Weatherline

As well as supplying a 5 day forecast based on the Met Office mountain weather Lake District information above. During the Winter, usually between December and March, the Weatherline fell top assessors walk up Helvellyn to check the weather conditions, which supplements the usual Met Office forecasts with info on snow/ice conditions underfoot.
