Scafell Pike from Wasdale Head

This is an alternative start to the Walk up Scafell Pike from Wasdale that starts from the Wasdale Head Inn. As there’s a car park, accommodation and a car park at Wasdale Head, many will choose to start off from here rather than the National Trust Car Park near Wastwater. You’ll also arrive back at your car (and pub) sooner if you’re descending the Corridor Route, which is another bonus!

Scafell Pike from Wasdale Head Route Details

There’s a clear path along the river to the NT campsite, where you can follow the Wasdale Route up to the summit. Though in heavy rain, the path may be harder and wetter to follow in places.

From Wastwater car park, follow the instructions given in our Scafell Pike from Wasdale route guide.
